It’s Valentine’s Day!
But ours doesn’t change that much because of it. We go for breakfast at a big
fun park and for the first time I eat a Vietnamese American breakfast.
The kids are happy
for being able to run and have fun, essentially for being kids! =)
We head home and
after leaving the kids, Xuan and me go around trying to find a store open where
we can buy a car for Phuc but almost everything is closed as they’re still
celebrating Chinese New Year. We find a store and besides a police car who
makes sounds for Phuc, we also buy a Stitch for Thach Tao and a tiger face mask
for me.
At home, lunch is on
the table and we have fried squid, steamed rice, soup and vegetables. I’m on a
water day so I’ve only been drinking water and I’m going to stay that way. Been
very healthy since arriving here: no fast-food, no cigarretes, a coffee a day and
lots of vegetables.
Time for a nap ‘cause
tonight there’s a party dinner at home and lots of funny people coming.
Xuan’s family and
friends start arriving and I’m helping with dinner. I cut green beans, I beat
dry fish (not successful at all) and I help with the table. We’re ready to
begin with beef, veggies, steamed rice, chicken barbeque, grilled squids and
fish sauce. To accompany the food, the grown-ups have wine (at the end of
dinner I count around 6 or 7 bottles of wine drank) and keep my water diet. For
desert we have watermelon and ice cream.
That’s it, night night
everyone!
