Day 24

Today is Phò Lé breakfast day! The 5 of us head there and eat our usual Phò bó with one egg and iced tea, well, Till drinks a bottled coca-cola as it seems this is the champions breakfast in Germany. =)

When we finish we walk ‘till a coffee shop and we drink one of our best cà phê sa đá ever. While there, Carlos has his shoes polished and Till has a staring stalking girl.

Time to head to the market and first we go to a touristy one where we buy a couple of chopsticks, bookmarks and I buy 2 horn rings.

Then we head to the Vietnamese one and after having a look we stop at the shop and glasses store where you can buy all the watches and sunglasses you can think of.

Till bought 3 watches and I spend a couple of Vietnamese dongs in a pair of beautiful ray ban.

After we went to the food floor and the colors are really nice there, between sweets and nuts and dry shrimps, once more everything is possible.

After the market we go for coconut water and it’s almost time to head home for lunch.

Xuan is feeling a bit tired so it’s only me, Carlos, Till and Maxi for lunch. We ate fried squid, steamed rice, beef with green peppers, lotus soup and to end, the Flan!

Siesta Time!

And now it’s already time for dinner and we go to a fancy place in Pasteur Street. We eat weird squid, Mekong delta food and coconut tree salad. It’s good but not as good as all the other food we’ve been eating. When we finish, Carlos, Xuan and the kids head home and Maxi, Till and me walk home. It’s a big walk but it was also a very funny one, as Maxi knows her way much better than me around HCMC’s streets.

Arriving near home we leave Maxi at the hotel and Till and me go home. We ring and ring and ring and ring and it seems no one hears us until Carlos shows up at the door saying we were lucky as he was heading to bed in that exact moment.

Anyway… it was a long day with lots of walking so going to be sounds nicer than anything else!

Night night peeps!
