Day 27

So… today’s Till’s last day in HCMC and he wants to go to the markets to buy a couple of stuff to take home. Xuan and Till take the kids to school and when they’re back and after a quick shower, we get Maxi and head to Phò Lé so Till can eat his last proper Phò Bó.

After breakfast we get a taxi to take us to the market and after a little bit of rambling we finally find what Till was looking for: and iPad case for his girlfriend. While rambling I also saw a couple of interesting, funny and shinning things, which I think, I have to go back to check and who knows maybe buy.

After the market, Xuan had to leave and in her way she left Till, Maxi and me in a coffee shop near the house. This was a new coffee shop that we have never been and it was very green and nice. I order our election beverage and was even able to ask for more condensed milk without doing a mistake. We stayed there for a bit talking and around noon, when was time to leave, I also acted like a proper Vietnamese by calling the waitress in pure Vietnamese style: beating the spoon against the glass! =)

While walking home we stop by the backpacks shops and Maxi buys a backpack after bargaining it with the employee. I also see a waist pack but I prefer come another day to buy it, lesser “long noses” lesser the possibility to be ripped off.

When at home, we have lunch and Till prepares all his last minute things so he doesn’t need to stress out when calling the taxi. Before heading to the airport he still has time to wash his hair and have a refreshing cleansing and still give a kiss to Thach Thao as she doesn’t want to come with us to the airport.

Till, Xuan, Phuc and me got to the airport and the traffic is just crazy: rush hour! We take around 30 to 45 minutes to arrive to the airport and when we’re there Till goes to check-in. there’s still time to hang out a little bit so we head to burger king where Till eats a burger, Xuan a latte and me a choco sundae. Too much sugar in these past days… after a while Phuc wants to go see the planes and I stay with Till while he finishes eating. We talk for a bit and then it’s time to say bye bye… the love between Till and Phuc is palpable and it’s very good to be part of it as a witness behind a lens.

As I’m a crybaby, of course a couple of tears roll from my eyes while hugging Till… I’ll miss my little brother and I just hope he heads in the right path from now on because if he does it, he’ll be able to have the whole world in his hand! I wish him all the best in his next adventure: school away from Frankfurt.

We get a cab and head home as it’s time to give dinner to the kids. Today they’ll eat a little bit later but it’s ok, it’s a special day. It’s time for our dinner and Xuan invited Maxi to go for barbeque as she never had gone there before. Of course I’m ok with the choice, their barbeque sauce is just from another world… when finish we pick a taxi and go for a magic coffee chai latte near the center. Even if we’re full there’s always space for a magic beverage with jellies in the end… we walk back home and my shoe breaks, just the perfect ending of the day I guess…

At home, I finish painting Maxi nails and this time she wanted tiger in her toenails and zebra/white tiger in her nails. It’s late and tomorrow I have classes…
