Day 44

6.30 am, no alarm clock needed anymore… shower, taking care of my pale white skin and take the kids to school. Breakfast at the lady next to home and we head to the bank. What we have to there is quick so next we go to An Dong market where Xuan has to run a couple of errands, including buying linen to do trousers for her, my mum and aunt Margarida. =)

We spend the all morning in the market and then we go home for lunch where there’s an unexpected guest near the table…

Once more, Chi Lam treats me like a princess and while she made a soup for all the girls with pig’s feet, for me she made one with prawns. I eat everything to the last drop and watermelon after makes my lunch.

It’s time to go to my classes, so Xuan drops me off and when I arrive I start, once more, paying attention on how to do with the gel nails and, after, a new nail drawing that I can do in the future. When that’s done, I go practice my things once more and I even try for a butterfly with no success… until the girls come in my aid and show me how to do it and then I’m a rocker! =)

Around 5 pm Xuan comes to pick me up and we go for strawberry milk before going for mandatory shopping. We have to buy rice cookers, electric portable stoves and kettles and we do it in a big place that’s having a big sale today. There’s so many people there that I get a little bit lost. This places are kind of funny because there’s always someone from the store with you writing everything you want, let’s called personalized attention, and then when you finish you go to the cashier to pay and go get what you bought to another counter where they open all the boxes and show you that what you bought is working.

When we head home the bike goes packed with Xuan, me, 2 electric portable stoves, 2 kettles and a set of pots. It’s too funny to watch but there are no pics of that! =)

At the home the kids are anxiously waiting for us and when see us with all the stuff start asking “what is it? What is it?” in their funny English accent. After all unwrapped it’s time for dinner and I’m eager to that as I wanna go for a walk when we finish it.

While we eat dinner the kids go up to get ready to bed and when we finish it, it’s time for what I’ve been waiting for: stroll around! First I go to the store I really like at the touristy street and I buy 2 tank tops, 1 t-shirt and an amazing dress that I’ll wear for my b-day specially!  I’ve been so lost in my thoughts here in HCMC that I didn’t even start doing what I normally do that is start counting the days ‘til my birthday… I also buy a couple of souvenirs for friends (no I’m not going to ruin the surprise, you’ll have to wait and see).

After the shopping I go to the roundabout near home and decide to record a little bit of the traffic there…

and for everyone is really weird having a “long nose” standing in a roundabout with a camera without moving… there’s a couple of guys playing Chinese chess and a girl next to them seating on a chair and she looks at me and smiles.

When I finish my recording I ask her if I can take a picture of her and after I do it and show it to her, she and the chess guys smile and laugh and give me thumbs up.

My next stop is the cinema so I go for the coffee shop near it and order tea milk.

While seating there I record some more traffic and make a couple of pictures but I’m starting to feel very tired so I just drink my milk, pay and head home to my bed.

When I open the door, Chi Lam and Chi Mi are in the kitchen because they were spooked, basically they heard me enter but didn’t know that was me, I joked with them and then head to my room.

Shower and my bed awaits me…

Night night peeps!

P.S. - been discovering a couple of covers that I really love and thought you guys would like to know too...
