Day 42

As every morning, I get up at 6.30 am to get ready to leave the kids at school. This morning Thach Thao tells me she wants Chi Mi to take her to school but young kids never get their way so she gets Xuan and me instead. =)

After we left them, Xuan left me at home while she went to pay some bills and I went for some introspection until it was time to go to the nail salon to start my lessons. Around 10 am Xuan calls me and we go downstairs to prepare my take away lunch and head to classes.

When I arrive there, the owner is still not there so I start by watching the girls painting the toe nails to a couple of clients. In the meantime he arrives and I start my training: painting until my pinkie finger is tired and my back hurt. I start with the basics and try to do a couple o semi-circles in order to do a drawing. It’s not an easy thing to do I can tell y’all!

I don’t even look at the time and everybody tells me I should go lunch (guess it’s around 1.30 pm) I go upstairs and eat with the girls and even if our conversation is really reduced to almost nothing, I’m able to understand that one of them wants to have a nose like mine and that they like not only my foot tattoo but also the really simple flower drawing I did on my toe nails myself. Guess it’s a good start! Better take the other samples I did tomorrow maybe they’ll see I’m a genius… hehehehehe

After lunch Xuan calls me as she’s worried I’m too tired and need to go home but I couldn’t back off on my first day, even with back pain and pinkie pain I’d continue there until it was time to pick up the kids in school. I go back to my training and around 4 pm Xuan shows up to pick me up. There’s no helmet for me so I put my hood in my head and we drive like that until I manage to get my helmet at home. Stop at home and then we go for the kids. I get Phuc and when he sees me he comes kiss me and then he says “car”, referring to yesterday’s truck that he took to school today, and I tell him to go ask the teacher. When he has it and said bye bye to everyone we go down the stairs to fin Thach Thao and Xuan waiting for us.

Before we go home we stop at the milk place and drinking a so much wanted sweet cold milk is something impossible to describe it. Even the milk is different here! They even have a store that only sells a brand of milk; next time I pass there I’ll make a photo to show you.

We head home and while the kids go for a shower I go for a much needed rest. This rest turns in an eyelids rest and like that I fall asleep until 7 pm. I was thinking on going out after dinner and see how things move near the cinema and the roundabout but I feel too tired and after dinner the dragon temple guy is coming and Xuan asks me to print a couple of pictures to show him, I’ll do it after dinner.

Dinner ate, pictures printed, time for a shower and head to bed…
