Today I get up early
but I don’t take Thach Thao and Phuc to school, today it’s Xuan and Carlos who
does it so I take a little bit longer to get. When they’re back Carlos needs to
do a couple of stuff in the office and Xuan goes with Chi Lam to the market.
When they’re back,
the three of us go for breakfast at Phó Lè and eat a very good Phó Bò, of
course. As we’re going away, the owner of the restaurant tells Xuan that Carlos
and me are very similar by saying I really look like my father… guess it’s
because we both have long noses… =)
We walk for a bit and
stop at a very funny coffee shop. This place is decorated with lots of apple
stuff like iPads, iPhones, covers for iPads and iPhones and even a photo of
Steve Jobs.
While Carlos and me drink a cà phê sữa đá, Xuan drinks iced tea and during
our relaxing stay at the coffee shop I take a couple of pictures to things I
thing are funny or interesting…

It’s too hot while we walk home and Xuan and Carlos are walking very fast but I have to stop to make photos of these tourists going in a rickshaw tour. Here in HCMC no Vietnamese goes by rickshaw anywhere, before they had taxis maybe but not anymore, so this is really a touristy thing and you don’t experience anything valuable, better go for a motorbike ride at rush hour.
When we arrive home, Carlos and Xuan go meet the guy who’s going to do
the paintings for the temple and I go for a mani-pedi in the hairdresser in
front of the house. While there, an interesting TV show is airing… the
presenters are showing how to cook scorpions, ants and some other creatures I
don’t even understand what they are. My face must be so disgusted that one of
the hairdresser starts laughing but you can’t imagine how awful that seemed,
too crunchy and blargh… Carlos and Xuan arrive to the hairdresser a little bit
after to do their nails too and I head home and do some net research.
When they’re back it’s time for lunch and there’s hotpot! Noodles,
squid, steamed rice, rice soup with beef and dry shrimps and finally a sweet
mango. After lunch I finish what I was doing and when I’m ready to go out a
thunderstorm starts. There’s so many rain that I think twice before going out
and my mind and heart says it’s better to wait.
The rain stopped so it’s my cue to go out, grab a jacket, the umbrella
and put the rain boots and there I go in my dress… I walk to Zen Plaza as I
need to see if I can find something my mum asked but unfortunately they don’t
have her number so I leave and continue walking towards the center. When I’m
arriving to Ben Thanh market the rain starts dropping again so I just enter in
the market and go for a walk.
This is really a touristy market which means
there’s tourist everywhere and there’s girls and boys trying to sell there
stuff and saying “Miss, fashion for you” and when you look it’s weird t-shirts
and trousers.
Anyway, after my market round I head outside and start walking towards
home. I go by the public park because I think is much nicer than going next to
the street. It’s so green… and there’s people trying to protect themselves from
the light rain in these cabanas without walls and while doing that they sing!
I cross the park and head to the other side of the road, as I want to
stop at the chai latte place and get one for me. They’re quicker today so I’m
on my way right away. There are still a couple of raindrops but nothing as
heavy as before. At home I go for a deserved shower ‘cause I feel sweaty and
need to relax a bit. Long shower taken and I go down to the kitchen and Xuan
asks me where I’m going as I’m dressed very lovely, in fact I’m not wearing
nothing special, just some jeans and a white shirt.
For dinner we have homemade barbeque with steamed rice, squids, prawns
and veggies and a wonderful pineapple. It’s a very nice dinner and when we
finish we stay talking for a little bit. After that I come to my room to
practice my nail art on me when Thach Thao shows up and asks to finish watching
Happy Feet. So let’s watch it… Phuc shows up in the meantime and join us. After
the movie finishes, both of them want to be tickled by me and, of course, I do
there will. Hehehehehe many laughs and little screams after and it’s time to go
to bed. Tomorrow we’re heading to the countryside and we’re leaving home at 7
am… need my beauty sleep!
Night night everyone, don’t let the bedbugs bite!
