This morning Xuan had baking classes so Till, Carlos and me go for
breakfast at 343.
Till orders a rib with fried egg and bread and I order prawn noodles (and they were spicy as hell)… Till and Carlos needed to talk so while they were doing it I was taking photos to the people surrounding me. And it was funny because was wearing an iPhò t-shirt and many of them that it was a really funny t-shirt in a “long nose”.

After a while I left them in the coffee shop and went for a walk.
While in my ramblings I passed by the Diesel store and it was amazing to see that Christmas is still on around here.
Whenever you enter a store the first reaction is the employees look at you without knowing what to do, as the majority doesn’t speak English and then they go after you to see if you need something as normal European employees.

When heading back home there’s a Vietnamese who starts to speak with
me in English and it was a nice conversation as, as soon I say I come from
Portugal they always say “Ronaldo” and “Figo”, and asked how long I was going
to stay and a couple of other things. I guess he wanted me to rent is motorbike
but when alone I prefer to walk as it’s better to see what surrounds me.
After lunch it’s time for a little rest and so I start painting my
toenails and when finished Chi Mi shows up so I can practice on her my nail art
painting skills. She’s the 3rd guinea pig and even if the toenails
got nice and it was the first time I was doing roses, hand nails didn’t got
that pretty and I really need to practice more. And of course, there’s also a
couple of things I need to think about when painting, especially the
conjugation of colors.
When I finish the siesta time is over and Xuan comes to my room saying
that tonight she’d like to go for a seafood barbeque and drink a beer or two.
After speaking with Till we’re down for it and while Xuan takes her mamma to
the pharmacy, both of us get ready for dinner.
Before leaving the house Xuan doesn’t let me take the camera and I
only understand why after we’re at the restaurant. =) We eat grilled shrimps,
grilled squid and fish soup with mushrooms and everything was AMAZEBALLS! While
having dinner a guy comes and starts singing with a portable karaoke and it
seems this is a regular thing around HCMC but for me it isn’t and even funnier
is his speakers…
I even have a Saigon beer with Till and Xuan but fortunately no
unwanted happiness for me as here they always drink beer and wine with ice and
yes, maybe you think they’re ruining it but if you lived here you’d understand
that if they don’t do it like this, after half a beer they’d be completely
drunk. In the meantime we eat acerolas and dry grilled squid.
At midnight it’s time to head back home and I’m already predicting the
future by thinking that tomorrow there’s no classes for anyone… when at home I don’t
even have strengths for a shower so I go directly to bed.
Night night everyone, don’t let the bedbugs bite!
P.S. - just in case you were wondering, it was a monochrome day =)
