It’s 7 am and no
alarm clock was needed today. A quick shower and let’s leave Thach Thao and
Phuc at the school. We go for breakfast near home to the lady who has the
kitchen almost in the middle of the street and the tables at the street. Today
I ate a different type of beef, it was good but spicy because of the pepper,
and it got stuck all over my teeth almost until dinnertime and not because I
didn’t try to take it out…
Anyway, we head to
classes and today we’re going to learn leg and foot massage but when we arrive
there the teacher talks and talks and then… let’s practice back massage! Guess
it’s time to head out as Xuan and me have lots of things to do. First we go to
the bank, then we go to the other bank and finally we go to the paintings shop,
first one then another from the first guy’s brother. It’s 2 pm when we finish
and my bladder is ready to explode.
We head home and lunch is waiting for us at the table. There’s tofu
everywhere: tofu soup, noodles with tofu, fried tofu with lemongrass (my
favourite), steamed rice and veggies.
It’s time to rest a
little bit as I wanna go for a walk after dinner and take a couple of pictures,
something I’ve not been doing lately. Watch a couple of TV shows and it’s time
to get the kids. They take a shower and while they’re having dinner I’m drawing
weird tigers and leopards so they can play after. Thach Thao has a crisis and I
get very upset with her and tell her I’m not going to play with her anymore, as
she didn’t act properly with me. I continue playing with Phuc until she comes
say sorry to me. In the meantime Xuan is in a meeting with the person who’s
going to do the dragons for the temple and continue playing with the kids: in
the kitchen, in my room, everywhere so Xuan can have the meeting without them
disturbing her.
When she finishes is late and we try to go for barbeque but
there was no food left so we could only go to Phó Lè: Phó bò plus two eggs and
iced tea. I learn that this place is open from 6 am to 2 am and that’s why the
monopoly lady has so much money in her hands every time we go there. Phó Lè is
a money making machine!
It’s too late and I don’t
want to go for a walk so we head home and I saw another surreal thing…
I love this city! I love
these people! I love this country! =)
Night night everyone,
don’t let the bedbugs bite!
