Day 56

Today we get up early ‘cause the guy that is going to sell the trees to Carlos is coming in the 5 am bus to HCMC. When we’re almost ready to go for breakfast the guy arrives and Xuan and Carlos have to stay taking care of business. I wait in my room doing my stuff until Xuan calls me and tells me that is better if I start walking to the nail salon as they didn’t finish yet and they’re going to take more time still.

I grab my stuff, stop by the Tous Les Jours Bakery, grab a coffee latte and one cream cheese bread and go on my way. I like to walk to the nail salon but today is really hot and I’m with short and a t-shirt and I’m getting all sweaty.

When I arrive I’m received with smiles and the questions where was I the past two days. After all the explanations I can give I start getting ready to start my acrylic nail practicing and it seems today is not a good day for me… my head is still tired from Da Nang and I can’t get it right, in fact, today I’m so bad that my teacher looses is patience with me… I know that even if they don’t tell me they start to get frustrated with me and even I start to get frustrated with myself! After the all day practicing and not nailing it a lady comes in and it’s better for me to stop and just watch the teacher putting the acrylic nails on her. When he finishes is time for the painting and I watch Châu doing her magic.

It’s time to go home, as I don’t think today I’m going to get any better results with my acrylic nail practicing so I just grab my stuff and start walking. I stop at home to get the camera and then go to Ben Thanh market to by some brushes, white paint and some other stuff I need for the nail art and then walk home again.

I do lots of pics and a couple of movies and it’s so nice to see everyone in the park playing, doing exercise…

I’m feeling very peaceful, so much I even pass the chai latte place and don’t notice. When I realize it I walk back and buy one of my favorite drinks, it’s very hot so it’s really good to drink such a cold drink.

When I arrive at home I ring the bell but it’s not working, I call for Chi Mi and Chi Lam but no one answers, finally I scream for Carlos and he hears me and come downstairs to open the gate. He also tells me Xuan is at the hairdresser washing her hair so I go there. I tell her I was trying to enter at home and that no one was there and that I would put my stuff at home and then I’d come back to wash my hair. I pick up my shampoo and conditioner and head down and it’s so good to have someone washing your hair, massaging your head, giving you a face cleansing and a face massage…

At home I start practicing with my new stuff and when it’s time I go downstairs for dinner. After dinner I head back to my practicing and when Xuan shows up at my door and I show her what I’ve been doing she tells me I’m much better and that there’s lots of pretty examples in my little portfolio. After a while Chi Lam shows up at my door to give me a ironed shirt and sees what I’m painting and asks me for a drawing… I do a white and blue flower and it’s pretty beautiful! =)

It’s time to go to bed as my eyes are closing without my order…
