Day 65

It’s Friday and if for my friends Friday means the last day of the week and then lazy rest for me just means not getting up at 6.30 am. But because is Friday, I get up, take a shower, get ready and when the kids come down, Xuan and me take them to school. Then we go for breakfast at the lady Bulldog (the one next to home who looks like a bulldog) and when we’re back at home, Xuan tells me she needs to go see if the bell she and Carlos ordered for the temple is ok and that it’s such a far away drive that she’s not keen do it. I tell her if she needs me I can go with her so she doesn’t do the drive alone and so, instead of going to the salon, we go to check the bell and instead of driving we go by bus.

It’s my first bus experience in HCMC and for Xuan too. We go by motorbike taxi until the bus stop in the center and then run to catch the correct bus.

The guy who checks the tickets is nasty as he doesn’t stop staring at me and telling Xuan that I shouldn’t have tattoos, that I’m so pretty and I ruined myself and you know what, after a while I get tired of this stupid conversation and I ask Xuan to tell him that, in fact, I intend to cover all my arms and body and that I don’t want him for husband so he should just let me be. After this I start ignoring him and so does Xuan.

We arrive to district 12 and get out in the stop we need. Xuan calls to the bell guy and he comes get us by car and take us to where the bell is. The bell is beautiful but unfortunately has 2 mistakes in the English translation so the guy has to make it correct. He shows Xuan how to build the bell support and I take pictures of everything so they have a visual aid when it’s needed. When we finish, the bell guy and the driver take us to lunch. They order vegetables and chili stuff, soup and duck. The food wasn’t good, the soup was burnt, duck wasn’t cooked enough and I have to say it was so difficult to eat it with chopsticks that they had to ask for a knife and a fork for me and even like that in the fight between me and the duck, the duck won!

It’s time to set the money straight, pay the bill and head back home. Fortunately we don’t have to ride in the bus anymore as they take us home by car. It’s a quick drive, at least is what it seems…

At home, Xuan and me start to organize ourselves and decide that we’re going to the massage, as we’re too tired and sore to do anything else. We get what we need and head to the massage… I get number 27 and Xuan gets a new girl and when we finish, we’re feeling good and head to the steam bath. All the toxins come out and our body is very relaxed… we get dressed and it’s already time to pick up Thach Thao and Phuc from school. While we were at the massage, it rained so much our helmets were all wet, the sky is dark grey and I guess it’s going to rain much more today.

We leave the kids at home and then go to buy a couple of nail art stuff I need and go to the pharmacy, always looking at the sky to see when will the rain pour down. The bell guy invited himself for dinner with us in the center and even if we’re not feeling like it, it is something we have to do so when at home, I solve a couple of stuff, I speak with my dad on the phone and then take a quick shower and get ready for the dinner none of us want to go. Around 6 pm, Xuan shows up at my door and tells me the bell guy cancelled so it’s Xuan and me time to go to the barbeque, have a nice meal and go back home to sleep as much as possible.

As always the barbeque is great, the people who work there say hi to me and are very friendly and when we finish eating, we go home. There I go to my room and start painting my toenails and this was the result…

I also try to practice a little bit but my head is tired and nothing good comes out of it so I put everything aside, put my pajama on and lay in bed while watching a couple of TV shows.

Around 11 pm it’s time to sleep so…

Night night peeps!

P.S. – recently I’ve heard again a cover I really love… I’ve seen both of the bands live and the shows were just A M A Z I N G! =)
