Day 68

It’s 6.30 am and I just wanna stay in bed but my lazy ass doesn’t stay there longer as I need to get ready to take the kids to school with Xuan. I showered, get dressed and ready to go when they come downstairs.

After we leave them we go for breakfast at the Lady Bulldog but we’re so lazy that words don’t come out of our mouths. When we finish breakfast we head home and I think Xuan is going to take me to the salon but she has other plans: we’re going to the coffee shop at District 1. Our cà phê sữa đá is ordered but takes ages because Highlands is crowded… we stay there and while drinking our coffee we talk and I’m happy to say that Xuan and me are growing closer and that we’re friends, good friends. =)

Around noon we head home and we have lunch. Then it’s time to go to the salon and when I arrive the boss is doing some different acrylic nails that I think it’s very interesting, in fact, he mixed two different powders to give this look.

When he finishes we talk a little bit and he tells me he took 3 hours to do it and of course is tired. Today instead of practicing the acrylic I wanna learn anything new in the drawing field so I ask Châu to give me another challenge and, if in the beginning, I suck in the end of the day I’m a pro! =)

Xuan comes to get me around 4.30 pm with Phuc and we go to Saigon Square in District 1, basically is a market inside a office building completely directed to tourists but is where you can find things like nice swimming suits for the kids or a couple of nice t-shirts as the ones I saw and wanna go looking again… we buy a spider man swimming suit for Phuc and after wondering a lot we find a pink leopard Minnie mouse one to Thach Thao.

Our shopping is done so we go home to show our shopping to Thach Thao and the rest of the “family”.

When we arrive home and we show her what we got for her she starts taking her clothes and dressing the new swimming suit. Her happiness is amazing! She’s laughing and running around the house showing everybody the pink leopard swimming suit.

After all the excitement is time for their shower and dinnertime. I’m getting so hungry I could eat a whole cow, as we say it in Portugal, but it seems Xuan invited her friends from yesterday for dinner and around 7 pm they still didn’t show up. She calls me and tells me that because they’re still not there, Chi Lam will give me dinner and if they come they come, if they don’t, their problem. The dinner is shrimp hot pot and it’s very good as always! =)

After dinner I grab my computer and go to the office as I learned my dad’s at home and I can talk a little bit with him via Skype. We connect and he tells me he has been sick and I get very angry with him because he didn’t say anything to me. I know I’m on the other side of the world but anyway I’m still his daughter, I care about him and I want to know when he or my mum or anybody else from the family is sick. Maybe I’m not a doctor but I deserve to know! In the meantime, my mum shows up on Gmail and I also talk with her and I’ve missed her, in fact I don’t remember the last time we talk properly because, lately, every time I speak with my parents is at weekends and they always have my grandparents there for lunch… I’m not complaining just saying it has been difficult to have a proper conversation with them…

Anyway, we talk for a little bit and it’s already 10 pm and so I say bye bye to mum and dad and go to my room. It’s time for a shower, a TV show and bed.
