Early morning of Saturday and no need for the alarm clock, of course.
I get up and take my shower and get ready while Xuan and the kids do the same.
When everyone is ready, I go downstairs and go for breakfast at Lady Bulldog
with Xuan. At breakfast Xuan tells me her teacher is coming to visit us today
so our daily plans changed a bit.
When we’re back from breakfast I go to the office to make a DVD with
some Chipmunks videoclips to give to Thach Thao and Phuc so they can dance the
day away, of course in this compilation is also gangnam style, their favorite
music lately. In the meantime, Xuan’s teacher and a friend arrive from the
countryside and they’re in the kitchen talking.
Around 10.30 am Xuan calls me to go to An Dong Plaza. Xuan, her teacher
and me jump on the motorbike and the 3 of us go there in search of a Chanel or
Gucci bag. We walk around and see a couple of nice ones but none nice enough to
be bought. I even saw a lovely Prada purse but I think 700.000 dongs is still
too much… we leave without buying anything and go back home.
It’s lunchtime and the food is already waiting for us. Today we have
steamed rice, fried pork, fried fish, fried prawns and bamboo soup. I keep
myself for the pork, the rice and the bamboo soup. Then I go to my room for a
little bit and I’m able to talk to my parents on skype.
It’s 1.30 pm when Xuan calls me to go to Ben Thanh market so we can
buy some more fabrics needed to finish our clothes. We head there and when
arriving we see we miss the samples of the fabrics so we only buy one that
we’re sure of. While we’re heading back to the motorbike I stop at a stall,
which has some Chinese flip flops that I love. I asked the price and leave them
there in order to buy them another time where I can negotiate the price. The
lady selling thinks I’m crazy for not taking them right away and gets angry
with me. I don’t care; I want to buy it another time not now.
We leave the fabrics at home and try to convince Chi Lam to come with
us to the massage but after a fight in the shower between Chi Lam, Chi Mi and
me, I give up and only Xuan and me go there.
I get number 27 and give her a gift in secret, she’s very happy and
understands that she can’t tell anyone. She does me such a nice massage that I
fall asleep on the massage bed. When she finishes, I head down to the steam
bath and all the oil and toxins in my body are sweated away.
It’s 5 pm when we arrive home again and I feel as soft as a squid so I
go for a shower and after that I lay in bed watching some episodes of Hannibal.
I feel so relax that I almost fall asleep… when my eyes are ready to close, I’m
called for dinner and I feel so lazy that I can’t think straight. At dinner I
don’t open my mouth as I’m still in my trance…
Xuan wants to go out with everyone after dinner so I go get dressed
and get pretty for the ladies walk. =)
The daughter of Xuan’s teacher is also here so she takes her mother in
the motorbike, I go with Xuan, and everyone else goes by taxi to Ben Thanh
market.
As we
don’t find anything at the market we head to Vincom center to the expensive
stores and you know what? They don’t like anything there either! I’m starting
to get frustrated so, at one point, I give up and go outside to make photos…
There, Miss Thoa, Chi Lam and Chi Mi stay with Thach Thao and Phuc
while they play in the playground and run around the park and we go for a walk
in search for this Chanel or Gucci purse. I do a couple of photos and movies
being always impressed by the colors and the quantity of people around.
As our purse quest wasn’t a success we stop at the coconut ice cream
place and get a coconut for each one of us. I’m so thirsty that I drink all the
iced tea they put in front of me and eat the coconut ice cream in a blink of an
eye. It’s not that I’m hungry I’m just feeling the need of fresh and cool
stuff… when we finish is already 10 pm so we walk to the motorbikes and then go
home.

I’m dead as someone sleeping with the fishes so, at home; I put my
p-jays on, press play for a Hannibal episode and fall asleep…
