Day 89

Monday, 6.30 am… my ass gets out of the bed and I go for a shower, I get dressed, leave my computer in the office and it’s time to take Thach Thao and Phuc to school. After we leave them there, we go to District 6 to the bank and I’m so sleepy that I even close my eyes for a little bit while Xuan is taking care of her stuff. When we finish we go for prawn noodle soup at this place right next to the bank. The soup is pretty good and the cà phê sa đá tastes even better.

We head home to get the backpack and head to the warehouse where Xuan has the stuff to send to Portugal. When we arrive there no one understands why we want to take our stuff out of there and there’s a big mess with the guy who took care of everything. After a couple of Xuan’s screams, we’re able to take the stuff out. The new container guy calls his trucks and 3 trucks come, the guys at the warehouse start packing and loading everything they can in the 3 trucks but unfortunately these trucks are not enough so we rent one from the warehouse and still have to wait for one more truck to be able to take everything out. While all this is happening I have a vision: beautiful vintage vespas… =)

It’s around 3 pm when we leave the warehouse so we go for “lunch”, in fact I’m not that hungry but there’s nothing light to eat so I go for tofu noodle soup, it tastes good and it’s enough for the afternoon I didn’t know I was going to have. So, we finish eating and a light rain starts falling meaning it’s time to head to the new warehouse and see how stuff is going… oh Lord… these guys are even more morons than the ones in the other warehouse. They don’t give a crap about other people’s stuff and when it starts raining heavily, half of Xuan’s stuff are outside. I get upset; Xuan gets upset and calls to their boss, a mess! Finally they start working with a good mood and taking care of everything until a “clever” guy decide that is really clever to put around 10 cement plaques and a heavy wood wardrobe on top of a bad wood structure with 5 or 6 cement dragons… the result? The dragon’s wood structure breaks, almost everything going down and one dragon broken. And let’s not say that Xuan and me had to carry furniture around because no one wanted to do anything! We finished the workday around 6 pm, sweaty and very dirty. Tomorrow there’s more so we head home and as soon as we arrive, Chi Lam puts the dinner on the table.

Xuan prefers to shower first, I prefer to eat and then shower and don’t have anything else to do after so I eat and head to the shower. I feel so tired that I just wanna lay down in my bed and it’s what I do. It’s still early so I start watching Django Unchained and I have to say I was expecting more… maybe it’s me who needs more spectacular stuff lately but I didn’t think the movie was amazing and there were a couple of jokes I didn’t get it… anyway it’s time to bed ‘cause tomorrow another heavy day!

Night night everyone, don’t let the bedbugs bites!
