Day 88

As always it’s 6.30 am and my eyes open. Today we’re going to take Thach Thao and Phuc to the zoo and I’ll go and visit the History Museum, my first museum since I’m here. Guess it was time already, no? I get up, take my shower, get ready and go downstairs. The kids are already downstairs waiting for their breakfast and, in fact, Xuan is arriving with Phó Lè food for them. Xuan and me go to the Lady Bulldog, eat our beef noodles and go back home. The kids are ready; everyone’s ready so it’s time to call the taxi and head to the zoo.

At the zoo, the mess is not as big as the one at Den Sen Park so it’s easier to buy the tickets.

First Xuan buys 4 zoo tickets for Chi Lam, Chi Mi, Thach Thao and Phuc and they go on their way, Xuan and me head to the History Museum and buys the tickets, when I’m ready to enter the security guard asks Xuan where I live and she says Vietnam and he tells him that doesn’t matter, I have a big nose so my ticket is more expensive.

The museum is nice and there are lots of nice artifacts and ancient stuff. It’s a nice visit and without the security people see I’m even able to take a couple of photos.

When we finish our visit we go find the kids. We walk around a little bit, I see the hippos and the elephants and then we go again in our search for the kids.

Luckily there’s a show on and of course we find Thach Thao and Phuc watching it.

Basically is an old guy “pimping” his granddaughters, I guess, and everyone thinks it’s very funny… I don’t know what to think about it so I just go to find something to drink by myself.

When I’m back the show finished so we go around a little bit more and this time I see the rhinos, the zebras and the Oryx and because this is not enough, we buy tickets for the train around the zoo and I discover that this place is not only the zoo but also the botanical garden and that’s the reason for so many trees and flowers around.

It’s time to head back home ‘cause it’s already 1 pm and the kids need to lunch. We get a taxi and we go on our way. At home the kids start having lunch and Xuan and me go to get something to eat at the market. I’m thinking on leaving after lunch for a little bit of sightseeing but when I finish I’m starting to feel sleepy and I think twice if I really wanna go out or not. My decision is not going out so I head to the office and call my parents through Skype, they’re already awake and so we talk for a while. It’s almost 4 pm when we finish our talk and so it’s time for Xuan and me go to the supermarket buy a couple of stuff we need.

It’s always an adventure to go to the supermarket ‘cause you can’t imagine how many people can be inside, there’s no concern about anyone, supermarket cars going against people, people pushing you around… a mess! When we finish our shopping we go back home and I really don’t want to do anything so I go back to my TV shows only coming down for dinner. After dinner I head up to my room and I have a surprise on Skype: my father is connected and is at my nana’s house with my aunt, cousins and uncle, beside my grandparents, of course. I speak with all of them and tell them I’m ok and we have a big laugh with Thach Thao because when she sees my grandfather is bald she doesn’t like it and run away… hehehehe

We finish our talk; I go for a shower and then head back to my TV shows…
