Day 87

Saturday! Even if I wake up at 6.30 am I stay in bed just being lazy and rolling to one side onto the other of the bed. The kids are also asleep and there’s no sound around the house, at least until 8 am which is when I get up and go for my shower, the kids start making their vocal cords being heard and Chi Lam and Chi Mi are around the house cleaning it.

When I’m ready I go down to the kitchen and the kids are ready for breakfast, right after Xuan shows up with their breakfast and then we can go for breakfast too. Lady Bulldog is unpleasant as usual and we eat and leave the place as soon as we finish. At home Xuan needs some more help with the invoices and I’m glad to help, it’s always funny to write in Vietnamese and try to say the words I’m writing. When we finish is 11.30 am and we need to go to the post office but Xuan’s afraid they close for lunch so instead of going right away we decide to stay at home, rest a little bit (yes I’m feeling really sleepy and a little resting of the eyelids tastes very good), have lunch and then we go to the post office.

The sky is grey as it seems it has been the past days or better since the rain season has started there’s always a part of the day where the sky is grayish… at the post office we’re starting filling the paperwork we need to send an urgent document and then Xuan remembers that she has more documents to send on Monday so it’s better to wait until then. We hop on the motorbike and our next stop is Saigon Plaza, the touristy market near Saigon Centre. There we look around for a couple of stuff, we buy some nice gifts and then Miss Hoan, the accountant, calls Xuan saying she’s already at our place and ready to go to the massage (something I had no idea we were going to do today). Anyway, we head home, we leave the stuff we buy there and go for the massage.

When we arrive to the massage parlor we’re informed that all the girls are busy so we should do the steam bath first and then go for our massage. While we’re having this conversation, the receptionists see my nails and tell me they’re very beautiful and I’m proud to say that I painted it on myself! =) We head inside and go get ready for the steam bath and then it’s time to change towels and go for the massage. The three of us enter the room and I wait for my girl, my 27, once more we do the joke about if she was a man I’d marry her and then the massage starts. I think I even slept for a bit… after 1 hour and a half what is good finishes so we head to the locker rooms and get dressed. Miss Hoan goes her way and Xuan and me go for dinner (it’s 5.30 pm) at this seafood barbeque place that opened next to our house.

I eat a couple of stuff I haven’t eaten before and also stuff like squid, prawns and goat tits which aren’t new for me, I even seasoned it with a little bit of sauce and chili. When we finish we go home and Thach Thao and Phuc are getting ready for dinner so, while Xuan stays in the kitchen giving them dinner, I go to my room for a shower.

After my shower, Thach Thao wants a butterfly on her toenails and Phuc Spiderman on his nails so I grab my painting stuff and start doing it. I don’t even know how to make Spiderman in such small nails like Phuc’s ones but he seemed happy and Thach Thao even happier with her butterflies so I think I’ve done good. =) I continue my painting until my father calls me, he’s with my grandparents and it’s always nice to hear their voices and send them some love and kisses. Unfortunately I learned my father is still not ok and so I’m getting more worried than I was before… on Monday he’ll go to the doctor and I really hope someone finds out what he has…
I start to get sleepy so I pack everything and lay down on my bed while watching a couple of TV shows. It’s 10.30 pm and my eyes just want to be closed and even if I know I’m risking getting up at 5 in the morning tomorrow, I prefer to risk it and go to bed right know…

Night night everyone, don’t let the bedbugs bite!

P.S. – today’s the day the coffin goes away from the house in front of us and I can tell you it’s really nice to watch the way Vietnamese celebrate their dead: they have a band, a guy jugging glasses and bottles that also eats knifes and so on and so on. I’ve taken some pictures and did a couple of videos but for respect I’m not going to post it…
